Rubbish & Recycling

General waste - General waste bins are on the right hand side of each set of bin stores which are located under the flats of each of the 4 side blocks. Please put your rubbish in the bins and not on the floor outside the stores.

Recycling - There are green recycling bins in the left hand side of each set of bin stores. Glass bottles, cardboard and paper, clean plastic packaging can be recycled here. Please put recycling either in a clear plastic bag or not in a bag at all. Do not put black bin bags in the recycling bins and do not leave recycling around the bins. Large cardboard items should be broken up first and then put in the bins. For a detailed and downloadable list of what can and can't be recycled please see here

Clothes and material waste - There are Traid bins on both sides of the estate for clothing.

Food waste - Currently we cannot recycle food waste on Woodvale Estate and so it should be put in the general bins. The TRA are looking into the possibility of food waste bins.

Garden waste - Currently we do not have official garden waste collections. Garden waste can be put in the general bins or taken to the local tip, https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/rubbish-and-recycling/reuse-and-recycling-centres

Bulky Waste - As estate residents we do not need to call to arrange bulky waste collections as they are included in our service charge. The TRA are currently in negotiations with the Council to try and improve the way we mange this. For the time being please leave any bulky waste items (ie large electricals and furniture.) neatly by the bin areas. Please be aware that this does NOT include white goods (fridges etc). Please do not obstruct the doorways or access to the bins and do not dump rubbish around the estate. If you see non-residents dumping waste then this is classed as fly-tipping and can incur a hefty fine. Local waste and recycling centres - If you have access to a car then there's alway the option to take waste items to the local tip. Info can be found here:
